.: ... learn other internet marketer mistakes? :-?

Define Internet forum:
  • An online discussion site where people post their messages to converse with each other.
  • other nickname? Message board.

Free Professional Templates for Blogger Blogspot user~

Blogger~
.: Looking for free professional-looking templates for your blogs? :-)

I used to stick to one specific template for my personal blog until one day I realize white is the most attractive easy-on-our-eyes color when we read a blog with a lot of texts. It looks best when combined with a simple layout without too much stuff laying around. This is important if I wants to write a blog with high CTR in mind and selling other online stuffs too. Hurmmmm...

Before this I love to lurk around 'googling' for free Blogger templates and tests them out, but this time I'll just use Blogger's free template service. I need to reduce my time searching for templates and convert it into looking for internet marketing lessons and tips, and one bad habit of mine is I always modifies free templates that I get according to my own taste, which wastes a lot of my time. To be more productive I need to sacrifice something, mmm.. :-(

Okay, let that thing aside, let's move on to our free and new Blogger Template Designer~~

Introducing the Blogger Template Designer
I think I already fall in love with one template from this video, heehee~

Looking at the video it looks very easy to create a beautiful Blogger design using their Template Designer. There is two ways to access this feature, one from our Blogger Dashboard, or just by switching to Design tab to edit our Blogger layout~

Click 'Design' to access Template Designer from our Dashboard, or..

... Click on 'Template Designer' in our Design tab~

Just in case you and me are afraid that we might messed up our current blog design, how about we do some experiments with it? Click this Template Designer test drive to test it out~

And if we are happy with the new layout, please, please back up our current blog design by downloading it's full template from Design > Edit HTML first.

Download the full template to back up our current blog design.

Another careful reminder: Some widgets might be lost when we put the new design into effect with our current blog. So, please copy and paste all of our widget HTML settings inside a new document in Google Docs first, and after finished and satisfied with the new design, we can Add a Gadget in our blog Page Elements and paste our widget HTML again~

Add a Gadget (widget) - Add HTML/JavaScript elements into Blogger~

With this many works and steps to do, we're lucky we can skip our template designing part. Eh? Is it that many? You've to try it first to believe it~~  :-P

How to tease our blog readers with our links~

.: Links were made to be clicked, copied, or linked. But not to be teased. Eh? :-P

I found an interesting explanation about HTML link. I use link a lot, either for showing us interesting stuff, link to other good article, embedding pictures, videos, etc, because link is useful. What is link actually?

Link is usually written like this : <a href="http://blablabla.html">aiemm</a>.

Define HTML link:
(via HTMLGoodies):
  • The 'a' there means anchor. So, 'a' is for anchor, not apple ya?
  • 'href' means hYPERTEXT refERENCE. That's why href is written after a, because to help anchor refer to the desired link.
  • URL (uniform resource locator) is normally written is this format http://blablabla.html or http://aiemm.blogspot.com . URL is another word is the address of our blog. Another example: Facebook URL is written like this http://www.facebook.com , and YouTube is http://www.youtube.com .
  • and to close the anchor, it is written as '/a'.

The most common link properties used in this blog is the target attribute. I think I should use the title attribute from now on. Hee~ :-)

What is a HTML link attributes?
  • our HTML links can be given certain emotions. Like when you click on it, it opens the target website in a new window or a new tab instead in the current window. This is called a naughty link, and it contains _blank as it's target.
  • eg: <a href="http://aiemm.blogspot.com" target="_blank">aiemm</a> . Or it can be written as target="_whatevernamehere" too~
  • another attribute that catches my eye is the title for HTML links. When we found links with title, that links is considered truthful and honest. Why? When we point our mouse it shows us the link name~
  • eg: <a href="http://aiemm.blogspot.com" title="i like IM">aiemm</a> . To show this link emotion, hover your mouse on this aiemm link~

Wiki-chain. The HTML link to information~  ;-)

So, after learning this HTML link, now we can proceed to the teasing part~
  • How to tease our blog reader with links #1 : Instead of href-fing our link to the original website, how about linking it to wrong website? :-P
  • How to tease our blog reader with links #2 : Write our link title as funny as strange as we might. It must not be annoying, but helpful playful~~
  • LOL~  :-P

Now we can go practice teasing our links~ Oh yeayyyy~  X-D

What must we do after done publishing our new blog post? Ping ping ping~~ (Ahem, one ping is enough)

.: You may or may not done this before, if if you do it, you help your blog to prosper~~  :-D
(or something like that)

Usually, after finished publishing our new blog post, we should ping it immediately.

Define Ping
The 'pinging' (doing ping) act is considered as telling the search engines or other servers that one blog has been updated with a new content. It tells them that they should list or crawls or index our new post so it can be found when other people search for it.

Ping = door bell. It's like telling the owner that new contents is coming~~

To ping our blog is pretty easy, and it's free. We just need to write our blog name, it's full URL, or it's RSS URL and then send our pings. We can use one single website to do that, or we use other website that specialize in doing multiple pingings. Here is a decent list where we can do some pingings~
  • Google Blog Search ping service~
  • FeedBurner ping : If you had your blog registered with FeedBurner, this is your ping shortcut~
  • Ping-o-Matic! : Ping-O-Matic is a service to update different search engines that your blog has updated.
  • Pingoat : Pingoat is a service that pings or notifies a number of services that keep track of weblogs and publish them.
  • PingMyBlog : is a service which notify all the major blog directories in one go so that everyone knows about your latest blogs.
  • Pingates : is a service that pings or notifies a number of services that keep track of weblogs and publish them.

I usually use Ping-o-Matic interchangeable with Pingoat. Say, for today's new post I use Ping-o-Matic to ping it, and for tomorrow new post I'll use Pingoat to ping them. Why? Some services unavailable in Ping-o-matic can be found in Pingoat. Why stingy with one website? Use other websites too~ Plus, it's not the usual me-heehee~~ X-D

How to add more search engines to our current Firefox search bar?

Firefox search bar~
.: Firefox search bar? Eh??

In case you didn't know, on our right side of our Mozilla Firefox browser is where our handy search bar located. If you are using Firefox 4 beta 11, your search bar will look just like this picture here  -->
(FYI, usually your Firefox search bar is the same bar either in Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 4).

Before this, Firefox search bar have 6 default search engine : Google, Yahoo, Amazon.com, Creative Commons, eBay and Wikipedia (en). Now one of them is gone and is replaced with Bing. Ouch! :-(

Okay, no need to worry. I'll share with you the link to search using Creative Commons later. Now rejoice~~  X-D

And let's look at one example on How to add more search engines to our Firefox search bar~

Adding YouTube video search into our Firefox.
First, open our YouTube page in a new tab. Then click the drop down menu in our search bar. It really should look like this.

Search bar is "telling" us to add YouTube search.

Click the 'Add YouTube Video Search'. And now our search engine addition process is complete. So, when we want to search other video to embed it inside our blog, we can just search it from our Firefox search bar~

YouTube Video Search~

We can add other search engines too, like Flickr, Answers.com, Dictionary.com, EzineArticles, localized Wiki search, etc~ Some search engines (like Creative Commons) does not support it's addition to Firefox search bar yet, but we can always bookmark them for our use later~

How to add your blog RSS or Atom feed into your iGoogle or My Yahoo! page~

.: Another way to check if your current blog's RSS or Atom feed working or not? Add it to your own iGoogle or My Yahoo! page~~

I have trouble repairing my personal blog feed in my personal iGoogle and My Yahoo! page. My latest blog post is not shown, only my old post is available. Why? What happened to my feed? Hurmmmm... :-(

Before we continue, the very first we need to do is to find and copy our blog feed link. Where is my blog feed? In Blogger blogspot, we can scroll down our blog and look for this~

Blog rss or atom feed link is located at the bottom part of our blog.

Right click on 'Posts (Atom)' > 'Copy Link Location' if you use Firefox.
Now our blog feed link has been copied. We can add them to our personal page.

For iGoogle page:
Click on 'Add stuff' located on our right side.

Click 'Add feed or gadget'~

Paste our blog feed link inside. Click 'Add'.

Done~ Our blog has been successfully added into our iGoogle page~

For our My Yahoo! page:
Click 'Content' on our My Yahoo.

Choose to 'Add RSS Feed'~

Paste our blog feed link there and then click 'Add'~

Done~ Our blog has been successfully added to our My Yahoo! page~

Now we can do our own blog feed check after we're done updating our blog. What we see in our personal page is what will others see when they subscribe to our blog feed. Sometimes they are slow when updating it, but we should see our newest blog post appear later in our personal page.

Too bad adding our blog feed to My MSN is not working yet..

Your Comments Loves You More Than You Do

.: Love your comments. When commenting, please think about others feelings too. Write comments ethically as your comments will show who you are.

If you know the importance of link building, this post should be an eye-opener, or maybe just another different idea of SEO in action~

CommentLuv Network.
Have you heard or use CommentLuv before? If you had, you should read this post more, but if you haven't, you better read this post and other blogs more, okay?  :-P

A note for first-timers:
CommentLuv is quite a useful plugin that you may install in your WordPress or your Blogger blog. It still use the same commenting system, but now this new comment can pull the latest blog post/feed from their commentator.

A note for not-so-firsties:
CommentLuv has "moved" to another new site. If you use CommentLuv.com before, now you can go to ComLuv.com to enjoy the same CommentLuv system. Their old site still exists, and has already "stripped down to it's bare essentials".

A note to everybody else?:
  • CommentLuv works best as our indirect promotion about our latest blog post. Like the 'News feed' widget, when other people read any blogs with our CommentLuv enabled, they will know about our newest written post. This, can increase our blog reader and our presence on the Net.
  • But for blog owner, the disadvantages of using CommentLuv in your blog is, your reader can go away from your blog. Which sometimes is not a very good thing to happen today. But why worry? Our blog is our blog. They will definitely come again because our blog satisfies their hungry of information, right?  ;-)
  • One really good advantage about CommentLuv is, it attracts our readers from resisting to write their comments in our blog. From one CommentLuv, now it spread to another one, then another one, then another... Whoa...

Then, How can we add CommentLuv to our blog?
  1. Sign up first at IntenseDebate.
  2. After done with registration, log into our account.
  3. Visit their plugins and activate~~

Maybe after watching this video will help us how to do it correctly~

The New Google Search Page is Now Alive~

.: I'm pretty sure this will be permanent. Maybe in a year or two, LOL~
:-P

Previously, I had encounter this new Google page design before, on January 17th, and I post it in my old IM blog. And after fateful Monday, Google's new page is not available anymore. It only appears just a very short while. But that applies to Google US only, my Google MY still maintains the old design. Hurmmm, I was pretty excited at that time, but, it's still okay.

And today, again, the new design reappears. Only for Google US, with slightly different from before. I think they only change their hover colors maybe?

Alright, let's take a view at the old Google page~
Not-so-old Google design (Jan 17th, 2001).

Today new Google page design (Feb 15th, 2011).

New design is not implemented yet in Google Malaysia~ (Feb 15th, 2011).

The same preferences settings stays~

Well, that's my quick post today. If I come up with something new, I'll post it here. Later, if I'm able to finish it today, it will be a post of sharing the comments love to all of us~~

Top 3 Search Engines Where We Can Submit Our Website URL For Free~

.: I have a very bad feeling this two weeks, and I think I need to document all my internet marketing discovery and tools that I found on the web. Plus, I may not available online from end of February until March, so, before I forget everything, this blog will be my internet marketing sticky notes. Go aiemm goooo~~  :-)

This post will lists 3 places where we can submit our website URL. Well, that place refers to the top 3 search engines on internet.

You may ask, "Why we need to submit our URL to them? Isn't it their job finding our websites/blogs?" Let me put it in bullet points for easy reading~
  • Appear in search results : Human made technology will never be so perfectly perfect. Search engine crawler may missed our website when they do their crawling routine. By submitting our website URL to them, this should help crawlers to crawl them and later appears in search engine results page.
  • Help new website / blogs : Newly made sites are not indexed "yet" in search engines. Submitting our URL is one of our alternative shortcut. We *must* make our new site go public ASAP! (So people will start using our services or buying our products~)
  • I come, I saw, I conquer~ : Why waste such a free service? There must be a good use if they offer such a free service for us. Hurmmm, I wonder why they put it up in the first place??? :-?

This is an old YouTube video where Matt says about URL submission in 2008...

Google's Matt Cutts | How to Get Better Visibility on Google

Now, would you think it's okay to submit our URL? If you agree, okay, here it goes~

Submit #1: Add your URL to Google.
  1. Type our site or blog URL.
  2. Give our very best honest comments ever~
  3. Type our "captcha" security code.
  4. Click 'Add URL'~~

Submit #2: Yahoo! Site explorer.
  1. We can choose any option, but let's stay with 'Submit a website or Webpage'.
  2. Type our URL inside the text box.
  3. Click 'Submit URL'~~

Submit #3: URL Submission - Bing.
  1. Type our "captcha" security code first.
  2. Type our URL.
  3. Click 'Submit URL'~~

Submission done!~  :-)
For other old article about URL submission, you may not visit this pages.. (Because it conflicts with my personal opinion...). LOL~

First thing first, your domain name/blog title should not be as long as this blog post (or longer).

.: I was kinda curious, why people want to use long long super long name for their website or their blog (like I used to)?  :-P

Google I/O 2010~

I remembered that in Google I/O 2011 SEO video Matt did say something about the domain name. Which, I personally think that we should follow the new trends of naming our sites, unlike others who "stuffed" every targeted keywords inside as many as they can.

If you look at Google, Yahoo, Bing, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Squidoo, etc, plus many other web 2.0s out there, many of them love to use "strange" domain name for their services or products. And strangely, this way of naming helps people or users to remember one site or can be easily found when they do their searches online. Which is a very good idea to boosts the positive side of their user perception~

3 properties of not-so-new trends of naming websites or blogs...
  1. Short (aka cute, sweet and simple name).
  2. Strange or funny (names from sounds, expression, or d-i-y names).
  3. Indirectly related.

... which sometimes influence me so badly when I'm going to set up a new blog. (Like how I feels very uneasy with my Internet Marketing Online Class and later use this Aiemm now). But as long as I'm happy with it, laa lalaa~~  :-)

Before you and me starts to create or re-create new web 2.0-like domain name, remember not to use other corporation / associations / business names. Please search it first before we settles for that name. Search until 30-50 results to ensure that name is clean from any "inappropriate" or "dirty" resemblance, okay? Oh, we must avoid crazy domain name because we cannot include spaces in them...

Define: Affiliate

.: If you don't have any products or services to offer for your online business, well, maybe by being an affiliate is the answer for you.

Hmmm... Affiliate?

Affiliate definition:
Affiliate is a person who is rewarded by helping merchants getting their products or services sold, or leads the customers to them.

The simplest working schedule?

This is a quick solution (yet the very famous solution) for new online business which do not have anything to offer their customer yet. Blogger Comments Tab: Delete Spam With a Click?

Blogger.
.: While this might be slightly off topic from internet marketing, but this helps making our online business much easier and safer. Let us learn something about spam.

What is Spam (Wiki)?
  • the use (better call it "abuse") of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.
  • the person who sent and create spam is called spammers.

Type of spam:
  • Comment spam : people/machine sending random or "useless" comments or promotes unwanted ads/commercial services in blog's comments
  • Spam blog (splog) : a blog created with duplicate content from the Net - created to fool internet users and search engines
  • actually there is many type of spam, but I only choose two~

Spam is the thing we don't ever wanted in our blog, and it's existence is unavoidable. Yes, we can fight spam, by filtering and blocking it's way into our blog. Now Blogger has enabled their spam detection for our blog's comments, but we still need to filter again which one is spam which is not.

Click on the 'Comments' link under your blog title in dashboard:
Click it~

Now here is our spam inbox:
Blogger Comments tab.

  • Published: All approved comments for our blog will be displayed here
  • Awaiting moderation: If you enable comments moderation, you will see those unpublished comments here
  • Spam: All spam comments will be here for us to filter again or to be deleted

So, with this handy tools, we hope that we can control spam effectively. While not everything is perfect, we can report any Blogger issues in their forum. For more related article, refer to:

How to Create a Gmail (Google mail) Account?

.: Gmail (Google mail) to me is a very powerful free internet marketing tool, with only one account we can get access to "all" of Google's services.

Gmail~

What is Gmail?
As copied from Wiki:

"Gmail is a free, advertising-supported webmail, POP3, and IMAP service provided by Google. In the United Kingdom and Germany it is officially called Google Mail.

Gmail was launched as an invitation-only beta release on April 1, 2004 and it became available to the general public on February 7, 2007, though still with beta status. The service was upgraded from beta status on July 7, 2009, along with the rest of the Google Apps suite."

How to Create a Y! mail (Yahoo! mail) Account?

.: Yahoo! mail is a great web-based e-mail with it's unlimited space. As a great rival to Gmail, I definitely love to recommend you signing up your account here with Yahoo!~~

What is Y! mail?
Description from Wiki,
"Yahoo! Mail (shortened to Y! Mail) is a free web mail service provided by Yahoo!. It was inaugurated in 1997 and serves over 280 million users as of 2009.

Currently, Yahoo! offers two versions of Yahoo! Mail: an Outlook-like Ajax interface powered by Yahoo!'s Zimbra introduced in 2007, as well as the traditional static-web-page "Yahoo! Mail Classic," which continues the availability of the simpler 1997-2006 interface for the brand's considerable installed base of users. In early 2008, Yahoo! started offering unlimited mail storage even to its non-paying users, in response to heated competition in the free-web mail market segment."

Usually I will change my default modern layout to classic, because the speed will become much faster, and I am able to open in multiple new Firefox tab instead of their default modern tab. (I don't know why I am not comfortable with Gmail conversational view, I just don't know why...)

So here is how to create our own Yahoo! mail from Docstoc~~ (Taken from my old IM blog)

Internet Marketing - What Is It All About?

.: We heard about internet marketing already. We know that internet marketing is a good way to make money online. And we also wants to succeed doing internet marketing too. But what is internet marketing?

Internet marketing (Wiki) means "The marketing of products or services over the internet." It's a way to inform our potential customer or other people about the online business site we had, particularly what products or services we're offering by using internet as our platform, either for free, or paid with some money.

So, when we say internet marketing, it means that we're promoting something, or we do online promotions. Our promotion will include the business space itself, it's sociability, entrance in search engines, affiliate marketing and this also includes mobile marketing.

Internet Marketing:-
  • promotes the business space itself
  • where the promoting done in social activities
  • is the promotion in search engines entry
  • with rewards : Affiliate marketing
  • associated with mobile marketing

Promotions thru the business itself.
This is internet marketing which markets the website or the blog to the crowd. This is done by making the business site or blog to be user-friendly (easy to navigate), leave deep and lasting impression with unique identity, clever soft-selling techniques, being localized, or customer follow-ups from newsletters or from opt-in form provided. It's pretty much about telling the customer what your site is all about and what they should do next.

Involvements in social activities.
With the surge of social websites and web 2.0 on the Net, this is truly a golden platinum opportunity to spread the words about our online business. The creation of fan page in Facebook, Twitter tweets with shorten URLs, 2-way communication in blogs comments and forums, MySpace and YouTube channels, wow, internet has become merrier and lively. If our business is really good, word of mouth is enough as our primary internet marketing. Heehee ;-P Word of mouth is very contagious (viral), get trusted easily (better conversions), and sometimes spread faster and better than ordinary marketing.

Entry in search engine ranks.
This should become our third priority when thinking about internet marketing. Yes, search engine is very helpful giant volunteer when users search for certain keyword or phrases, but do not depends heavily on it. What we can do is to optimize our online business to be comply with the search engine rules (SEO), do pings to ensure they do get the latest information about us, build backlinks from other sites, include our website in directories, increase our PageRank, etc so our giants trust us more and will ranks us the best place ever - being the number one in search results in the very first page.

Wow, this post is getting longer and longer, now I'm getting thrilled~~   X-D ;-P

Internet marketing with rewards : Affiliate marketing.
Yup, our alternate solution when we do not have anything to sell online is a form of internet marketing. There more sales we get, the more rewards we'll receive. Mostly this type of marketing rewards their affiliates based on customer purchases (rewards based on actions), or customer giving their information online: their e-mail address, phone numbers, zip or postal codes, etc~ (rewards based on leads). Google Adsense (like the one on the upper left side of this blog) is called contextual advertising (another type of affiliate marketing), where it views only related ads based on texts available in this blog.

Associated with mobile marketing.
For me, this kind marketing still has a long way to go. This new form of internet marketing has it's pros and cons, to be specific, the most concerned issues is about the user privacy violation. But, the best thing about mobile marketing, especially for mobile phones, this market alone is five times bigger than the internet! Just imagine our business opportunity here. Wow! And sadly yes, this is not my area of expertise, but it definitely worth a try~~ ;-)

(Note: I've experienced soft-selling SMS before. Though I'm not interested with the products, but somebody is doing it out there. Should we put mobile marketing inside our class? We'll wait and see)

Yes, that is a very brief explanation about internet marketing. Such handful post like this should be digested slowly and steadily, so you won't get loaded with too much information. And do not worry, we will learn all of this marketing techniques in future lessons, so be prepared and get ready~

Change Tracked Insights Into Verified Traffic and Instant Niche?

Google accounts~
.: Usually I won't care about the manuals or how tos when I use any of Google services~ That's include my Gmail, Blogger, iGoogle, Alerts, blah blah blah~ I prefer to enjoy my own Google account discovery rather than sticking my nose into each technical terms and boringly sleepily read it from A to Z. Unless I encountered some problems or difficulties, I wouldn't bother watching the how to videos, or lurking inside help forums too~ LOL~  :-P

And that brings me to this one minor regret, if I know it sooner, I would've use it earlier!   X-O

What is that minor regret? My Google Insights!~   ;-P

Definition based on Wiki: Google Insights for Search is a Google's free service that provides tracked insights about the search terms typed in Google search engine. It is also capable to show future forecasts for certain keywords and for certain time range, together with their top and rising searches. Insights results is shown in a visual representation of regional interest on a map, while the numerical data on your result graph will only be displayed if you've signed into your Google Insights account.

Back again with the original topic about Google Insights, How can we change tracked insights into our verified traffic and use it as our instant niche?

Follow my Google Insights cheats here~~
  1. Go to our Google Insights for Search (beta) first~
  2. Look at the "See what the world is searching for" part.
  3. Click on one of the Insight example~ Properties > Rising image searches in France (last 30 days).
  4. Let's filter it a little bit (refer to the image below) ~   ;-)  And choose your preferred Categories~
  5. Click search~
  6. And voila~ Now you get your verified traffic and instant niche already~~   :-D

Sorry, I don't understand this?? Help please~~
  • Verified traffic: Google Insights shows you the tracked search terms searched from Google search page. Results shown tells you what are the keywords a.k.a. items or products or information that people really searched for, depending on your selected time range. 7 reasons to create multiple e-mail accounts for internet marketing~

.: This post should be posted early than any other post, but we still can use it at this moment~

In order to build an business blogspot, we must have an e-mail account before we start using any blogging platform. Creating an e-mail is pretty easy, but to do it the internet marketing way, we need to use it with a different approach.

What kind of approach?
Optimization. Use every tools or website to it's fullest potential. E-mails can be used for many other uses, instead of just for writing or reading purposes only. But before that, please do these homework first:
  1. Create your Gmail account.
  2. Create your Y!mail account.
Why need to create two e-mails? Gmail is great e-mail account because with one account, we can integrate it with other Google free services. Compared to Yahoo!mail (Y!mail), Gmail does not offer unlimited storage - which is quite disappointing. You can read more of Gmail and Y!mail differences here.

After finishing our homework, this is why we create multiple e-mail accounts: 7 reasons to create multiple e-mail accounts for internet marketing.
  • To differentiate personal and business e-mails. Different e-mail serves different purposes. My recommendations is to create 3 e-mail accounts - Gmail is for accessing free Google services (especially Blogger.com), one Y!mail for collector box, another one more Y!mail is solely for one business blogspot contact information.
  • To become our freebies reservoir~ Y!mail is great for storing our free ebooks subscriptions, free templates, free documents and other freebies because they offer unlimited storage. We will encounter many many many freebies invitation when we doing this internet marketing, this is the reason why Y!mail is chosen.  ;-)
  • As a means of communication. Both Y!mail and Gmail provides free built-in messenger and this can be used to exchange information between our business partners, or used as an online class to teach our customers.
  • Back up our project drafts. Gmail can access Google Docs, where we can save our spreadsheets, our text documents or our presentations "in the cloud". They do support other type of documents as well, enabling us to upload our documents online. For those who always losing their USBs, Google Docs might be your alternative solution.
  • To collect junk or spam mail in one place. Usually, after subscribing with multiple internet marketing freebies, our e-mails somehow "subscribes" spam e-mails too. By limiting one Y!mail for freebies collections (a.k.a. spam e-mail storage), other Y!mail for our contact information will not be crowded with these unwanted e-mails. That's what we called content management, eh, e-mail managements~
  • As our ID for giving comments on a blog or websites. Usually, when we write comments for a blog, they will asks our e-mail for verification. Some sites allowed anonymous comments, but many prefer e-mail to be given before comments can be displayed. This e-mail address won't be displayed, it's just as a security measure for blog comments.
  • Register for other online services. We will use our e-mail account to register for adding widgets, using Bit.ly, web 2.0, Facebook, Twitter, and other related websites for our online business. Reuse our e-mail so we won't have to create extra e-mail accounts again~

So, go now to Y!mail and Gmail and start creating your e-mail account today! More lesson, revision and homework is coming soon~~   X-D

Blogger Popular Posts & Blog's Stats Widget

Blogger Add a gadget.
.: Blogger in Draft gadgets: Popular Posts gadget and Blog's Stats widget~~
:-D

(Another old post taken)
Stumbled yesterday when I'm trying to edit my personal blog, this new Blogger gadgets is now available for us to use. And I do recommend you to use the draft version of Blogger, because I'm afraid that you cannot use this new features in normal Blogger. OK, now back to the gadgets~

Blogger Popular Posts.
Popular Posts configuration

This gadget is meant to show our blog reader our most viewed posts. We can configure it to show popular posts since the last 7 days, 30 days or just show our most viewed posts of all time. The default setting will show the gadget as "Popular Posts" (can be edited), with snippets of our posts title. Check the boxes if you prefer to have your popular posts comes with image thumbnail and it's snippets~~ (I remember this gadget works very similar to LinkWithin, rite? Heehee).
;-)

Blogger Popular Posts is best use to showcase our other related article, to show our reader/customer what other items (posts) available in our blogspot, so they will spend more time there. Sometimes our other popular articles can helps attracts more new readers too~ But a word of caution from me, this gadget must be placed correctly so your business blogspot won't become awkwardly super elongated...

Blogger Blog's Stats widget.
Blog's Stats configuration

This gadgets works like normal ordinary counter stats (like Feedburner counter), but this Blogger Blog's Stats widget incorporate live graph for the total visitors within the latest one month period. We can choose this counter to animate itself, but it won't animate until our blog is visited by a lot of people. 4 different styles is available, and of course I would love to have every parts of it so the fourth styles really suits me.   :-)

If you search on the net, there is some practice of not showing this visitor counter on your blog if your number is not that "attractive", which means your blog reader count is below than 100. New visitor might think that your blog is a crappy one because less visits means less popular, less valuable content, etc. So, new blog might need to rethink again before adding this gadget in your business blogspot.

By the way, do keep in mind to choose the right coloration for you Blog's Stats (either black or white transparent) so it will not conflict or become invisible with your blogspot background color~

So, that is our newest Blogger gadgets, and feel free to use it in your blogs~~
