It is a quote for the marketing book sections. To me, it's funny. And I like it. This kind of saying is an interesting way to teach others complicated things that they want to know in a-b-c. Err.. Learn stuffs in much simpler and understandable manner. :-)
It goes like this~
If the circus is coming to town and you paint a sign saying "Circus Coming to the Fairground Saturday," that's advertising. If you put the sign on the back of an elephant and walk it into town, that's promotion. If the elephant walks through the mayor's flower bed, that's publicity. And if you get the mayor to laugh about it, that's public relations. If the town's citizens go to the circus, you show them the many entertainment booths, explain how much fun they'll have spending money at the booths, answer their questions and ultimately, they spend a lot at the circus, that's sales.By P.T. Barnum.
Heehee, funny but memorable and understandable, rite? :-D ;-)
I wish to write internet marketing just like this one, because we can visualize how things connected to each other, it makes learning more fun, and what's important is, we can easily understand the message. But it kinda childish learning things this way, but we do love memorable moments and being childish is sure one of our unforgettable memories~~ :-)
